LESSON 3,1

An AI-driven organization
must blends technology, business, and ethics
into a flexible and agile structure.
Leadership provides direction,
tech teams develop solutions,
where AI is actively used to improve core processes.

Red and Yellow language code for best-possible work processes,
interaction, development and changes.

"VIRTU - OCCASIONE - FORTUNA"

Work has always required organization –shaped by needs, skills, circumstances, and shared values. Success still echoes the timeless leadership advice of Niccolò Machiavelli in the book: The Prince (1513):
Accept fate (virtu)  +  Seize opportunity (occasione)  +  Experience luck (fortuna)

How the human nature works.

From early hunter societies chasing food, to agricultural communities needing land, industrial economies seeking power and energy, and finally to today’s knowledge-driven world with its focus on quality and continuous improvement—human civilization has evolved dramatically.
Now we face the next wave: a reality shaped by Artificial Intelligence (AI), with massive potential for transformation.
This development has taken thousands of years. Yet, we as humans with: Flesh, mind, and soul, —remain much the same. That is both a humbling truth and a powerful opportunity. As leaders in this new era, we should not be replaced, but transformed. Beneath the surface, we are still human, with the same timeless needs for connection, safety, and love.

OUR FOCUS

Because human nature doesn’t change, we still need consistent structures.
We still fight for daily bread, seek community and family, and try to quiet the soul’s fear of loneliness. Life is still a journey to fulfill our core needs: food, love, and purpose
These thoughts become – for me as wrighter, clearer on a beach in Sagi, Brazil. After many off-road kilometers through vast sugarcane fields, life appears simple: small houses, ocean breeze, and a narrow path leading to a yellow-painted church.
Children with their mothers fill the street at midday. Men work, rest, or watch TV—dreaming of a future that no one yet knows.
With my laptop, and they with their everyday tasks, we are still under the same forces of fate and opportunity.
And one thing hasn’t changed: our deep longing for belonging and meaning.
That’s where the (8-talls-loopen) and the SGL-model come in.
They offer a bridge across differences and a path to what matters most.

The Figure-Eight Model

The Whale Organization: Powerful, heavy, and centralized.

The Bird Flock Organization: Agile, responsive, and highly communicative.

The figure shows two types of organizations:

The whale-like structure below the surface focuses on repeating proven methods, led by strong centralized control.
Above the surface, the bird flock symbolizes a shift to teamwork, delegated tasks, and flexible coordination—all driven by a shared goal. – Their motto: Together we can.
In short, the whale-like production loop revolves around:
  • Results  – Quality goals  –  Status checks  –  Corrections
This mirrors the structure of basic communities like the one in Sagi
But when too many corrections are needed, a change is required. The organization must shift toward delegated responsibility and shared goals.
This is a paradigm shift—from traditional problem-solving to double-loop learning. And it means for our time:
AI is no longer just a tool—it’s a partner and a guide.

Take a moment to write down some key points about your own work situation. Either process or development organisation. Then:
  • Do you know about the quality systems in your own organisation?
Do the quality systems in your own organisation matter to your own work situation?
    Can you document why?
